Panmure

Weather: Despite cataclysmic forecast and motorway warnings of snow it was not a bad day - a slight drizzle for two or three holes and a stiff breeze in an overcast sky all day, but not that bad by this year’s standards.

Highlights

Lowlights

1. Outstanding negotiations by Juggy to get this venue for an excellent (less than half) price - great package!

2. Excellent illustration of the necessity for top athletes to be adequately rested before performing.

3. Driving display by Jock “Coulthard” Lockie putting pedal to the metal to get from Barnton to Panmure with no wrong turnings in time for himself and passengers to recruit their strength with a fine bacon roll before starting.

4. Said fine bacon rolls and all round excellent food and service rounded off with a superb traditional high tea with excellent cakes.

5. Fine effort by Geordies, JD and JP in coming up to stay the night before, but it also goes to show that meticulous preparation will not always pay off.

1. Reason why J. “C” Lockie had to hasten his journey, viz. DP sleeping through alarm.

2. JM creeping about in the bushes and not featuring on the podium AM or PM but still sneaking the day

3. J.M.’s attempt to “correct” Stato Lindsay, and his response on discovering he had missed 2nd place in the afternoon round

15th April

2016

Psycho playing the 8th hole in 3 shots over the two rounds and nearly getting a second hole in one on the 13th but for the intervention of JM’s marker for the (previously) closest to the hole there.  It must be said that this practice of Psycho’s can now be considered routine.  Let’s hope it doesn’t become boring.

Good weather and fine soup and sannies for lunch.

Superior quality of golf by most of the field.

Guest appearances by Psychos’ cousin Brian Cecil and by Bob, Juggy and Dave’s pal Ian Smith.

Call offs by Johnny D. and Phil on account of acute ailments.

Dunstanburgh Castle

Weather:   Judging by the scores it must have been horrendous

Highlights

1. Re-appearance of Bomber, Graeme and Doug from the snowy wastes of the former Dominion;

2. First guest appearance by Kenny Coombes;

2. The Wee Course proving to be a delightful proper golf course;

3. Red House Hotel coming up trumps for food, facilities and hospitality;

4. A special subset of above being that there was no supplement for fillet steak!

Lowlights

1. The Canucks - they come over here, steal our women……

2. Muir enquiring whether anyone had picked up his camera from the table - camera in golf bag all the time

The Canucks return

a memorable finishing hole

…certainly for Juggy

this is where Collin’s 2nd shot finished on this Par 5…..

and his 4th finished here!
