The weather is worth a mention again or, to be more precise, the weather forecast. Driving through in pouring rain we were relieved to find that, as per forecast, the rain stopped as we arrived. Appearance of Digger at his first Freens’ outing

16th May

Weather:  Breezy, but warm and sunny - not bad at all.

Winners: Morning – Dr. JP ; Afternoon – DJR   ; Day – Jock

Highlights

All retinae stayed fully attached throughout the day and the Freen with the dodgy one triumphed in the morning and was pipped by a shot for the day! As mentioned in the heading, Bob and Dave arrived a week early - did them no good!

Lowlights

Can’t think of any So good they came here twice - Bob and Dave, that is!

Highlights

One of the all-time finest homemade steak pies for high tea Noble efforts by DJR to maintain DP’s alcohol level in the afternoon round - until he recalled that DP was driving him home!

Lowlights

“I returned and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift” - in point of fact it’s to the drunk!

20th June

Balmore

22nd August

Weather:  Exactly as per our Meteorologist’s prediction: “Suncream & hat for the morning, brolly maybe required occasionally pm.”

Winners: Morning – Phul ; Afternoon – DJR   ; Day – Jock

I hope you will all be pleased to see that the Webmaster has upped his game a bit and this outing is a tad more fully reported than all the others so far this year. Some illustrations are also provided

The first of these shows DJ launching the 3rd tee shot of the  1st group in the morning (first two off their marks too quickly for the photographer - probably just as well!

These pictures provide a fascinating insight into the the mechanics of the golf swing in the top echelons.  The upper picture sows the practice swing; the lower is the real thing.  Note the precise replication!

…and aother for afficionadoes of the golf swing.  What you need to know here is that after he played the shot our esteemed winner of the day said “I lifted my head”.  The picture is taken at the moment of impact?!

A happy group of Freens about to set out on the afternoon round.

A not quite so happy group of Freens dealing with the terrors of the burn on the 1st!

Lowlights

20th September

It was a wet Winter through in the west!

Some interesting aspects here.  Good follow through with weight perhaps a little on back foot?

No weight on the back foot here!

Now this is what you call a toilet!

A picture of contentment
