Taymouth Castle

17th June

Weather:  Very pleasant, but not dazzling day.

Recovering DP put together a couple of steady rounds to win from a large field (benefiting from D. Wood's lack of status)

Juggy's hole-in-one. DJ hitting a fine tee-shot at 1st after a 3 pint Stella lunch and coming back to finish his drink. Traditional highland welcome.  Entire group told off for taking golf bags into the changing room - and that was before anybody had done that, or even looked like doing it! C. Wood hitting a running shot after the meltdown point

Scotscraig

8th April

Weather:  Horrible - windy and extremely cold with flurries of snow

This was a terrible day for golf and was preceded by some skulduggery from CW to be revealed at next AGM.  A remorseless Doog withstood the worst the weather had to offer and walked off with the first prize.

Weather:  OK in morning but threatening and got wet later on.Robin at Hirsel(Edited).mp3

First traffic accident during a Freens' outing - sensation!  Listen to the driver's account by clicking this radio:

RM - "I was going to put the buggy beside the bench and I sort of mebbe lost control of it a wee bit and I went to sort of brake and I put my foot on the ******* accelerator  - sort of shot right into the back of the bench - I fired -eh,  Dave Runciman did about a triple somersault!  And poor Johnny Gill.  These guys are sittin' there just mindin' their own business and next minute - Bang! "  LR - "Taff was doubled up in laughter tho', was he not?"  "Taff was killin' himself.  I was kinda concerned about their welfare."  Asked later about whether he was worried about what the pro might say when he saw his severely mangled buggy with evidence that it might have been in a motorway accident Macqueen was coolness personified when he said, "It's OK.  It was booked in the name of Davidson!"

The longest drive that never was that John carefully marked on the 12th hole, but we decided not to have a prize for it after all.  "It should have been on the 13th because I hit that about 280 yards, uphill and against the wind!" (PH)

Collin won the morning with Juggy 2nd and Donald won the afternoon with Juggy 2nd again, so Juggy won the day.  Erick got his golf and food for free and also won £20 for 2 units.  (He later wrote to the Secretary about slow play and was rewarded for his trouble with a free four-ball, so it was his day - apart from the fact that he wasted a unit because he would have won the £20 in any case with only one unit.)

Weather: Bright with occasional showers

After dealing remotely with high legal affairs (executries and the like), Psycho proved his multi-tasking abilities by nicking the day from Johnny Gill.

Best of weekend - not bad at all.

Lawrance edged out DP by one stroke in morning round.

Good weather after poor Saturday Quota of players managing to stay on the 8th green no longer singular.

Craigielaw

28th October

Weather: Sunny, but cool and breezy with occasional showers

More than a wee bit against the head (and after running the scores through an appropriate audit) the day was won by DP who cannily did it without actually winning a round, but tucking in behind the class act in the field.

Charleton

6th May

Weather: Varied but generally OK.

BJ lurked in the undergrowth and in spite of a very liquid lunch came through to pick up first prize.

Sad effect of said lunch on performance of J. Lockie in the afternoon (16 stroke swing). DP being saddled at lunch with tax-dodging racists of the company. Collin misses his bag on the 12th hole - not on purpose Attendance of new guest, Jock Lockie. Lunch enjoyed by Lockie, McCanny and Paterson - possible new alcohol record.

Spey Bay

1st October

Weather:  Pretty wet

Result to be abstracted from book - memory gone

As much as you could eat buffet provided for the evening meal.  Doog thought he had died and gone to heaven. Warming Glenfarclas in the bungalow after the second round. Weather could have been better: morning just about passable but afternoon on the cold and wet side.
