This book is to record the scores and highlights of outings which are undertaken by members of the group of friendly golfers who met on the evening of the 9th March1979 in the Green Tree, The Persevere and thereafter in the Dragon Pearl.

Those present that night were David Rees, Douglas Kay, Charles Durham and John Muir.  Stuart Renton stated he was present in the GT but was misinformed by Alf Melville who was not present also, due to a pre-nuptial thumb print.

In the sober surroundings of the pub, we agreed on the following

1.  We should take it in turns to organise a golf outing once a month to a pre-arranged venue.

2. Each member is responsible for his outing’s organisation and presentation of a prize for the overall winner of both rounds.

3. A tankard should be presented to the member returning the best 4 handicap rounds during the year.

4. Handicaps were set at the start of the year and are altered as follows:-The winner is cut 2 shots if he breaks the SSS of the course.   If he doesn’t, all other members go up 2 strokes.

5. Prize money:- Ferrets and Birdies  Number of competitors x 50P  divided by the number of F and B’s per round.

King Ferret = £2.50       Eagle =£5        Hole in one = £5    Albatross = £25

For each round the winner gets Number of Players x £1 divided by 3.   The 2nd gets number of players x £1 divided by 6.

ORGANISER:-    D.Rees

Stuart won overall on the better second round.

D.Rees presented a very laudable prize of a hip flask to Mr Renton plus an Easter egg to Alf and his betrothed.
