3. SR 184 FF holes without a birdie.

4. Extra AGM vote declared – Holes –in-One to be worth £5 per head

Handicaps

Par 70:  SSS 70 £7.50 for day

Weather: Dry, sunny, light Westerly breezes

Course in very good condition, greens consistent, fairways dry and running.

Squad 7 FF and 2 guests

Morning winner: R. Macqueen; 2nd D. Kay

Afternoon Winner: C. Durham, 2nd J. Robertson

Day winner Charlie – Prize an expensive shirt from Robin

Highlights.

1. Another eagle from guest Dave which was controversially deemed 3 units = scored with a 3 at Par 5 12th (Drive, iron, 40 ft. putt.) ( N.B. from Ed..  I clearly made a considerable impression and at the same time scarcely any on my first Freens’ outing.  I did make an impression on Charlie because he appeared to be in an affable mood – no doubt aided by his leading position – and asked how I had played.  I said I had been so-so, but one of my playing partners told him about my eagle, at which he snapped at me, saying, “You can’t win the money!”  This didn’t come as a surprise since I hadn’t the faintest idea what he might have been talking about.  Affability departed.  The way in which I obviously didn’t make an impression was in the way that while Harvey Walker at least got Harvey W. the original record merely names me as Dave ? and doesn’t include my scores – ho, hum.)

2. J.M. having great weather in Ibiza

3. Dougie just back from Sunny Spain – and looking appropriately dark, brooding and Hispanic

4. Harvey’s gross 68 in the morning, then fell apart p.m..

5. J.R. and A.M watching Haddington old fogey driving the wrong way round Wallyford roundabout!
