This box used to announce that we awaited further digitisation of the records by Dr. Bob. Unfortunately he signally failed in that task and it has been taken over by the saintly Mrs. Rees.
FANCY FREENS AGM FRIDAY 16th January 1981
The 3rd AGM of the Fancy Freens was gathered at the Persevere on a hellish snowy night. All present except Jimmy who was stuck with new wife and invoiced (sic) child in Coldingham.
This proved to be the most raucous evening of the three to date but was quietly and authoratively controlled by J.M.
S.R. proposed if F.F. Cup won 3 times in a row then it should be retained by winner. Quite rightly shouted down but stated Tankard would be presented. He also started to mix it about handicaps saying should be national and got backing from C.D. which proved to be the Death Knell of the proposal as he got no backing when put to the vote.
S.P. wanted a day’s score to count for the F.F. Cup and this was not resolved. D.R. stated that organiser coordinated the guests for his outing.
J.M. was reprimanded for being his quiet well-ordered self.
We then adjourned to The Dragon Pearl for fine Chinkie.

We then adjourned to Casino. Mr R Morris was present throughout proceedings to ensure fair play. Outing to Dunbar cancelled on Saturday 17th as course closed.

Weather: Dry, cloudy, coldish. Course in poor condition.
Organiser: R McQueen
Attendees: All except JR.
RECORD OF THE OUTING: Dougy won morning and afternoon won by Alf. Alf won day overall by one shot from perennial bridesmaid D Kay. Prize was 9 Dunlop 65’s. Highlights of day were only one birdie in morning by JM and JR and SR losing to DK and AM after being 3 up at turn.

Weather: Beautiful apart from rain late on during 3rd round i.e. 10pm.
Course in beautiful condition in a nice setting.

Jimmy won morning and Duggy afternoon. Dave won overall so his prize of Corfu souvenir went to Doug.
Highlight of day was Rees being described as an animal by a discerning local when witnessing his 2 iron off the first tee. Also DK’s opening 7.
